With Adobe Illustrator you can create graphics and type in the resolution-independent vector format, meaning that the same graphic will maintain its quality whether it is being output to a business card or a billboard display. New features in Illustrator CS5 include Perspective Grids that create a sense of realistic 3D space and the Bristle Brush that makes scalable vector drawings look like realistic brush strokes.
Which Illustrator Course Should I Do?
Intro / Basic
Illustrator Lite (1 day): If you only need to use Illustrator occasionally (to create basic logos or edit existing artwork), this Lite Illustrator course will cover everything you'll need to know:
- setting up Illustrator
- drawing lines, curves, and corners
- using masks
- working with 3D objects
- creating templates.
Intro / In-depth
Illustrator Essentials (2 days): For those who need a deeper knowledge of Illustrator, the Essentials course builds on the concepts in the Lite course by introducing more advanced techniques including:
- manipulating type
- working with shapes, gradients, and patterns
- using the Blend tool
- combining shapes with the Pathfinder tool.
Advanced
Illustrator Advanced (2 days): If you are already a regular Illustrator user, our advanced course will extend your knowledge and skills with real-world techniques using many of Illustrator CS5's new tools and features:
- the Perspective Grid
- the Shape Builder tool
- Bristle Brushes
- Live Paint and Blob Brush
- multiple Artboards.
