Course Description
With exciting animation effects and an intuitive user interface, Flash is the most productive animation package available. Particularly with the latest versions, the integration with Illustrator and Photoshop makes Flash better than ever.
This course will introduce you to the essential techniques used to create vector based animation for use in any Multimedia application and on the Web. There is a prerequisite that students have experience in computer graphics and/ or Web applications.

2 Day Flash Essentials
The Flash workspace
Use the drawing tools to create vector graphics. Create animation using motion tweening. Create animation using shape tweening. Work with layers and symbols. Preview your work in the Test Movie window.
Adding Animation and Sound to a Flash Project
Create the animated introduction for a Flash project. Create multiple layer animations using tweening. Import sound into Flash. Add sound to the animation.
Graphics, Text and Working with Scenes
Import graphics – gif and jpeg images. Integrate text. Manipulate objects in the Timeline and Stage panels. Use different scenes. Add an email link to text.
Buttons and ActionScript
Create a set of buttons. Add a sound effect to button. Make the buttons interactive using Action Script. Test the project.
Publishing a Completed Flash Project
Add Action Script to control the appearance of the movie. Adjust the Publish Settings. Understanding the versions of the Flash Player. Publish the completed file for both the web and CD ROM delivery.
Working with Levels, Gradients and Transparent PNG Files
Work with multiple flash movies using different levels. Create a template for the movies. Create a background image using a gradient. Import PNG files with a transparent background.
Working with Video and Using Mask Layers
Introduction to working with video in Flash. Import a video file into Flash. Create a Mask layer. Use Action Script to build a simple slide show.
Advanced Button Concepts and ActionScript
Create a toggle button to turn music on and off. Create animated buttons. Make the buttons interactive using Action Script.
Publishing Multiple Flash Movies
Control the appearance of movies
using ActionScript. Publish the completed files for the web. Test
the files in the browser.
