Course Description
It is essential that students have at least 6 to 12 months solid experience with InDesign or have completed the 2 day Adobe InDesign Essentials course, and are familiar with the use of paragraph & character styles, master pages and paragraph rules. Completing the InDesign assessment quiz is part of the prerequisite. Please email for prerequisite PDF.
There is an emphasis on using shortcuts and replacing repetitive methods using global features, such as text & object styles, Find & Change and setting the right Application preferences.
Adobe Bridge is included to preview and select files and images, as well as to Batch Rename, Create Contact Sheets, Rate & Label files etc. to help with a better workflow.

Preferences
Setting document and application preferences for Type & Guides.
File Menu
New: Library/ Book, Export to PDF, preflight and package, page/ print setups, Cross-media Exports, Document and print presets, placing InDesign files.
Edit Menu
Story Editor, Spelling: Autocorrect, Dynamic Spelling, UserDictionaries, Quick Apply, Transparency Blend Space, Colour Settings and Profiles, Find/ Change: Text and formats, GREP, Glyph and Object.
Layout Menu
Layout Adjustment, Table of Contents, Numbering & Section options, Multiple Master Pages.
Type Menu
Advanced Character and Paragraph formatting. Create Outlines, Type on a Path & Inserting Characters and Space. Find Font, Text Variables, Footnotes.
Object Menu
